Cambodia - vacation part II

Clearly this post is coming really late, but I realized I never posted pictures of the second part of our vacation in Cambodia.  After spending a week in Bangkok & the surrounding villages we hired a driver to drive us to Siem Reap, Cambodia.  The journey was interesting to say the least - natural gas vehicles (that almost ran out of gas), crazy pot-holed roads, and scorching hot temperatures.  Our border crossing was quite stressful as we had to wheel our luggage about 1/4-1/2 mile over a bridge to the Thailand/Cambodia border, and then we were pointed to immigration which was "just up those 100 stairs."  In the heat of the day at high noon, carrying my (overweight) suitcase up a giant flight of stairs was not what I needed.  I had left one bag in storage at the Bangkok airport so just had one to carry, but it was still too much.  At the other side of the border there was an air conditioned car waiting for us to continue our journey to Siem Reap.  We collapsed into it and continued on our way.

The following days were spent exploring the Angkor Wat temple complex and other temples in the surrounding jungle.   The area was unbelievably beautiful and the people were so incredibly friendly.  At the end of our week we drove back to Bangkok where we ended our journey.
